MILAN, Italy. – Padre Garcia Team brought home the bacon in the recently concluded Winter-Spring Basketball League of the Lizards community held at Vimodrone Gym in Milan.
Padre Garcia Team defeated the Barkada Team of Bicol Region after an intensely close and very noisy fight.
Team Sodirini landed on the third spot.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award went to Chrizhmael Recto who happily shared a piece of his thoughts on winning:
“Kailangan lang talaga yung may tulungan, nakita ko sa aming team may tulungan talaga.. tsaka yung ano, kooperasyon ng bawat isa, laging dapat nandoon, hindi pwede yun isa lang ang may gusto o may kanya-kanyang gusto, kailangan sa buong team pare-parehas tayo ng gusto”
Team Manager Wilson Pasumbal attributes their winning luck to the cooperation of the entire community of Padre Garcia, Batangas.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa inyong lahat sa suportang ibinuhos nyo sa team ng ating bayan, sa lahat ng mga tumulong mula pa noong October, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat at mabuhay ang mga taga-Padre Garcia.
Despite of the tension and bickering ensued between supporters of the opposing teams, the crowd however went home satisfied and happy having witnessed an extremely passionate fight between two teams striving for the title. (by: Zita Baron)
