Marso 15, 2012 – Ginanap sa Meralco Theater noong nakaraang March 14, 2012 ang ika-28 Star Awards for movies ng Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC).
Masaya si Laguna Governor ER Ejercito sa pagkapanalo bilang Best Actor para sa pelikulang Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story, bagamat nag-tie sila sa trophy ni Aga Muhlach na nagwagi rin sa kanyang pagganap sa pelikulang, In The Name Of Love.
Ang pelikulang Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story, ay ikatlong remake ng Asiong Salonga biopic (mula 1961, na unang isinapelikula ng dating Pangulo at aktor na si Joseph Estrada) ay humakot ng mga parangal sa Star Awards for Movies 2012.
