Milan PCG welcomes Philippine Navy Contingent

Milan, Dec, 13, 23013 - The Philippine Consulate General in Milan reported to the DFA that a group of Philippine Navy Officials, led by Rear Admiral Jaime S. Bernardino, Vice Commander of the Philippine Navy, paid a courtesy call on Consul General Lourdes S. Tabamo on 3 December 2013.

Radm. Bernardino and his team of five officers were in Milan from 1-8 December for pre-delivery inspection of helicopters as part of the Philippine Government’s procurement under the Naval Helicopters Acquisition Project (NHAP). The helicopters were made and assembled at the production plants of Agusta Westland in Lonate, Pozzolo, Italy.

Agusta Westland (AW) is an Anglo-Italian helicopter company owned by Italy’s Finmeccanica, located 62 kilometers from Milan. Part of the agreement for the procurement purchase is the training of Philippine Navy helicopter pilots. Delivery of the helicopters will be by mid-December 2013 and they will be presented to President Benigno Aquino III during Armed Forces of the Philippines Day on 21 December 2013 at Camp Aguinaldo.

UNAR sumagot sa hinaing ng komunidad laban kay Bonolis

Ang National Office Against Racial Discrimination (UNAR) ay sumagot sa hinaing ng Filipino community at tinawag ang pansin ng mga writers ng tv program “Avanti un altro”. “Isang bukas na lipunan maging sa telebisyon”.

Roma, Disyembre 3, 2013 - Paolo Bonolis, impersonator ng isang "Pilipino"? Isang parody na "hindi tama at naglarawan ng demeaning stereotypes."

Matapos ang malawakang protesta buhat sa Filipino community, na kasalukuyang naghihintay pa rin ng public apology, buhat sa host at sa mga writers ng programnang “Avanti un’altro” ay dumating ang isang kasagutan buhat sa UNAR at isang paanyaya sa programa na huwag na muling magpalabas ng nahahawig na skits.

Sa episode noong Oktubre 19 ng nabanggit ng tv program, na kumalat sa social network, ay mapapanood si Bonolis bilang isang impersonator:“Io pilippino, vengo da pilippine, faccio pulizia e faccio domande di economia domestica”. At ang nakakatawag pansin na kanyang pagtayo kasabay ng paglagay sa dbidib ng kanyang kamay na may hawak na basahan habang pinatutugtog ang “Lupang Hinirang”.

Earlier this week The Western Union Foundation pledged a grant of US$100,000 to Save the Children to support the organization’s immediate response activities in the Philippines, which include providing emergency materials, meals and water to disaster victims.

To encourage and support additional philanthropy, through November 30, 2013, The Western Union Company will match two-for-one employee donations to the Western Union Foundation for disaster relief efforts in the Philippines.

FASA Milan, mistulang tunay na grupo ng Sandatahan Lakas ng Pilipinas

Milan, Nobyembre 25, 2013 - Mistulang tunay na grupo ng Sandatahan Lakas ng Pilipinas ang mga miyembro ng Filipino Airsoft Association  o FASA sa Milan, Italy.

Taong 2004 ng mabuo ang grupo ay mayroon lamang halos 10 miyembro. Di naglaon ay higit na sa 20, matapos ang recruitment mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng Milan. Taong 2007 naman ng opisyal na nai-rehistro ang FASA sa ‘Agenzia dell’Entrate’.  

Sa isang panayam kay Darwin Cruz, ang kasalukuyang presidente ng FASA, mahilig siyang sumasali sa mga Airsoft competition na isinasagawa sa isang malawak na lugar sa Monza, Italy at ang kanyang mga katunggali ay ang mga Italiano at iba pang mga lahi.

Ayon pa sa presidente, naging pursigido na mairehistro ang grupo dahil sa kabila ng mga trophies na natatanggap ng grupo kasama ang mga Italiano ay hindi sila nakikilala kundi ang mga miyembrong Italyano lamang, at kahit isa sa mga pangalan ng mga miyembrong Pilipino ay walang nakalagay sa mga natatanggap na awards.

Dahil dito iminungkahi na mabuo ang isang grupo ng mga mahilig sa larangan ng target shooting na binubuo ng mga Pilipino (Tagalog, Ilocano, Kapangpangan at Visayan).

Idinagdag pa ni Cruz, kahit sa CAT o ROTC, pagdating sa mga field training ay all out ang ipinapakita ng mga Pilipino sa husay ng mga military drills. Sa katunayan, ay mas magaling umano ang mga Pinoy pagdating sa Airsoft competition laban sa mga Italyano at hinalimbawa pa niya ang pag sagupa ng ating Sandatahang lakas sa Pilipinas na nakikipagdigmaan sa mga rebelde sa Katimugang bahagi ng bansang Pilipinas.

“May mga nakaka-compete din kaming mga carabinieri, mga militar, sila ay nasasabayan din namin” pagmamalaki pa ni Cruz.

“Ang pagkakaroon ng team work at disiplina ay mahalaga sa pagiging matagumpay sa mga kumpetisyon sa target shooting”, dagdag pa sa presidente.

Samantala, bigay-diin ni Cruz na kinakailangan ang parents consent sa mga nais maging miyembro ng grupo na may edad 14 pataas hanggang 18. At para sa kaligtasan ng mga miyembro, ay may insurance ang mga ito sa anumang di-inaasahang aksidente.

“Pinapahiram din namin sa kanila ang mga baril, at sila ay inoobserbahan namin” ani ni Cruz.

Nagsasagawa din sila ng mga safety gun rules briefing at lectures at iba pang mga lectures tungkol sa gun handling dahil ang laki at bigat ng totoong baril at ng Airsoft gun ay pareho. Nagkakaroon lamang ng malaking pagkakaiba kung ito ay ipuputok dahil mas maingay ang totoong baril.

Isang maliit na campo ang kanilang itinayo sa Busto Arsizio (malapit sa exit papuntang Malpensa). Bukod dito, ay mayroon din silang tinatawag na closed quarter combat area sa isang malawak na lugar para sa kanilang pag sasanay.   

Ang FASA ay nakakuha na rin ng mga awards, trophies at mga medalya sa mga kumpetisyon na kanilang nilahukan sa Mantova, Varese at iba pang mga tournaments  sa labas ng Milan kung saan sila inaanyayahan.

Sa kabila nito, ang prioridad pa rin ay ang magtrabaho dahilan kung bakit hindi lahat ay nakakalahok sa mga pulong, tournaments at iba pang mga activities ng grupo.

Patuloy na hinikayat ng FASA ang mga Pinoy sa Milan na sumali at maranasan ang Airsoft target practice and competition sa mga mahilig sa larangang ito.(ulat ni: Chet de Castro Valencia)
